What do Judicial branches do?
The Judicial branch makes the decisions for all things to do with law can change the law or reject laws that already exists. The judicial branch also decides the punishment for the disobeying of the law.
Korea consists of the Supreme Court, High Courts, District Courts, Patent Court, Family Court, Administrative and Local Courts in the judicial branch. The courts look over civil, criminal, administrative, electoral, and other judicial matters. The courts also oversees affairs related to real estate registrations, family registrations, financial holdings, and court officials.

The supreme Court
The supreme court is the highest court. The supreme court hears appeals that has already been heard by the lower courts. With the permission of the national assembly the chief justice is selected by the president. Now think about it... If the president was in the conservative political party, Saenuri Party wouldn't the president choose someone that has thoughts similar to him, wouldn't the chief justice be a part of Saenuri Party? Do you think it is fair for the president to choose the chief justice?
Other Courts
There are a total of 14 district courts all in different cities in Korea. Family courts hear all cases about wedding, divorce, matrimonial, small, domestic matters. The administrative court obviously hears only the administrative cases. The patent court handles cases like copy right, authority and all. Finally the second highest court is the high courts. The high courts hear appeals done by the district courts, family, administrative courts about civil, criminal and administrative. The high court does not hear any appeals done by the Patent Court. The final appeal is in the Supreme Court. The Constitutional Court deals with cases of unlawful acts
